Hi everyone,
I would like to share with you a simple DIY craft to make a key chain.
It is like a small attractive notepad attached to your keys. Something on which you can write down emergency phone numbers or your latest idea or your TO-DO list. The best part is, you can even personalise it with any quote you believe in or a name or initials. Just use a sticker or a print of the same or if you are an artist then paint an initial.
For the heart key chain
Materials:
Card papers cut in various shapes.
Scallop square punched cardpapers
Crop-a-dile to rivet the card papers together.
Rivets.
A bright, puffy, sticker which you get in a regular stationery store. I used a heart sticker.
Steps:
Rivet the square scallops together. Loop the key chain ring through the rivet. Add a sticker and it’s as quick as that 🙂
Other key chains:
Materials :
For the circular key chain : pinking circle punched papers and a round sticker.
For the monogram key chain : I used same materials as heart key chain above but cut out the “M” from a printed card paper.
For the flower key chain : I had bought these ready-made satin flowers long back. I used one of these. I cut out tiny rectangles and used a border punch for the border design.
Steps are the same.
One more option:
Materials:
Use brads instead of rivets.
If you do not have a crop-a-dile to rivet the papers, don’t worry. Here’s a solution.
Same materials are used as above except instead of rivets, use brads. They are available in local stationery or craft stores. I used a normal paper punch to punch out holes in these paper squares and then just used a green brad. I decorated this with gem stone stickers, also available at local stationery stores or craft shops. The neat thing about the brad usage is once the papers are consumed up by writing or you want to change them, simply remove the brads and add a fresh set of paper stack to your key chains 🙂
These would make great return gifts or rakshabandhan personalised gifts or gift them to someone simply without a reason. Do let us know if you liked them.
