Hi Kids,
It’s time for Father’s day and I am sure all you little ones are clambering to make something for your dads. Something he will love, something he will use and something that will bring some new color & happiness into his life.
Well, Here’s what we made last year. It was a recycled gift.
And this year too we made a recycled gift. It’s a secret as yet and so it is hiding behind the shelf, waiting for daddy. It was very simple because your friend Aruja almost made it on her own. The below photo is also clicked by Aruja.
We also learned how to use the scale to measure the dimensions, draw them on paper and cut along the lines to get an exact measurement. I did all this for her of course but, at the end of our craft, she was trying to get a “measurement”. π
So, get set for this super simple father’s day craft.
You will need:
An empty box (We used the surf excel powder box.), Some interesting printed or shiny papers, Cello tape, Glitter cello tape, Glue, Scale, scissors and stickers.
Steps:
1. Check the measurement of the sides of the box and cut out your printed paper to those dimensions.
2. Apply glue on that side and stick on your paper. You can even use colorful mono color card papers.
3. Complete covering all the sides of the box.
4. On the open sides, the paper may stick out a bit so fix it using small cello tape cut outs as shown below.
5. Also apply cello tape cut outs on the bottom.
6. On all the border edges of the box, use the glitter cello tape as shown. Cover all the edges neatly. Only the lid will remain. Cover the lid of the box completely with glitter cello tape. We used shiny silver paper and shiny golden tape hence our box looks like a treasure box. π
7. Now, add some stickers to it. You may also decorate it by adding a picture drawn or painted by you or with some lovely stickers you have or you can attach a greeting card. Aruja wanted to add Β hearts to her box decoration because she loves daddy a lot. Hence, she added hearts as she liked and we cut out some alphabets to write “Dad”.
Now, Daddy can keep his keys. his company ID card, his phone chargers and his pen in this box.
Aruja wanted to fill it with some gifts too. Any suggestions, let us know and we might just add them to this box as our Father’s day gift.
Bye for nowΒ and have fun,
Poornima
Nice one, Poornima!! Shared it.
Thank you Priya. Hope you try it with Aanya. Send me pics if you can and thanks for sharing. Love you for that. π
Lovely makesover Poornima π I used to save lots n lots of those Surf excel dabbas. One day I got so fed up with space issues that I had to throw them away.
π That happens to me too. The trick is to quickly do what you want with them and then discard or give away the rest. π Thank for reading in.

Thank you Sangeetha. Glad you liked it. It is really useful as our dad has car keys, mobiles, chargers, wallet, home keys and loose coins… all goes into this box. π
These gold and silver tapes have never looked this appealing to me.. Looks good π
