Do read on —
It was a room full of adults .
They were all playing some kind of a game.
A big box was being circulated around and everyone took out something.
As the box passed hands, each of them became sad, angry, tired, jealous, insecure, frightened or dejected.
Everyone had taken their share.
Suddenly, a small child entered. Her eyes lighted up as she saw the box.
She opened the box and picked out something.
She started giggling and laughing.
You see, the magic box gifted what you were deep within.
She was happy but, they still complained,
“She had the last laugh.”
This is a fiction written for Write Tribe’s 100 Words on Saturday – “She had the last laugh”. We had to write exactly 100 words based on this prompt.
Hope you liked it.
