Hi,
Aruja had a show and tell activity in school. Topic was transport. So, we did some charts.
Nothing great but, at the last minute we decided:
1.) Not to use the computer and printer to print out stuff but, I did use the laptop to search for easy to draw vehicles 😉
2.) Not to use the readily available charts
3.) Not to go out and buy more stuff for this activity but use whatever we had.
I believe that any show and tell activity at this age is just for the kids to get used to public speaking. That is, when they are specifically asked to 😉
Materials available
Few colored card papers, some foam dots, sketch pens ( half of which did not work! ), A yoyo in the shape of a wheel.
Simple lines for the child to speak

Good morning to all.
(Refer to page 1 )
How do we travel?
By a car on a road (show picture)
By a train on railway tracks (show picture)
(refer to page 2)
By a boat on water (show picture)
By an Aeroplane in the sky, above the clouds (show picture)
What is most important for road travel? (show wheel yoyo as a wheel)
(Refer page 3)
How many wheels does a bicycle have? Two (actually count them in page 3)
How many wheels does an auto rickshaw have? Three (actually count)
How many wheels does a car have? Four (actually count)
I love to travel.
Thank you.

Hope this helps if someone wants to create a simple chart for such young kids.
love,
Poornima

I found this amazing book from Tulika Books recently. It fits beautifully with your theme here. Take a look 🙂 http://www.tulikabooks.com/book_details.php?mid=2&c_id=1&s_id=1&b_id=340
Wow. I am so buying this. The same theme is on for Dec in their school so can use it in someway. Thanks so much Rituparna.
Beautiful ideas. I do agree, at this age the idea is just to get them talking. Loved how you drew all the things. I would have just printed stuff out.
Hi Shefali, Thanks. I am very bad at drawing. Really 🙂 But, I guess, My daughter enjoyed it and that’s what matters.
