Hi,

The year is coming to a close.

Let’s take a look at some of our simple “activity” posts which would help you have a great time with your kids during the Christmas holidays.

Click on the name of the activities to go to the actual posts.

We have also mentioned why we love these posts.

Hope you will also love them. Again.

1) Cadbury Gems ball activity

Activity gems ball

Most of us have the materials required for this one right at home. Cadbury gems balls, stickers and a thread.

The sticking part is the time-consuming part in this activity and this can be done independently by a child of three years and above.

2) Luggage tags from labels

Activity luggage tags

There is no hard and fast rule on how to decorate the labels. Hence, we can use the materials readily available with us.

Most moms are happy that the end product is a recycled usable product. Don’t throw away those labels now.

3) Super simple outer space crafts – Stars

Activity star

This is a super simple outer space crafts series and if you are introducing the topic of outer space to your child then you can refer our blog for craft activities for Sun, Moon, Constellation, stars, Alien and Spaceship.

They can make a number of things from the star shapes. Although this craft mentions special materials like glitter foam, you could also use thick cardboard and glitter.

4) Mickey Mouse ears

Activity mickeyears

Mickey mouse has been an all time favorite character. My girl loves Minnie mouse.

From this activity you can make both Mickey and Minnie “Ears”. They help your child identify with the characters and it makes a great pretend play tool.

You need not use glitter sticker foam sheets, you can even use thick black card paper.

5) Colorful crayons

Activity crayon

It’s just so simple. Draw any shape and stick the crayon shavings to it.

You could use this craft to teach your child a number of concepts like shapes, colors, alphabets. Just get them to make crayon shavings of that color and paste it in your concept related shapes.

6) Fish tank

ActivityFishtank

This has been a post which everyone has loved.

The end product has a beautiful effect and we had treasured our fish tank for a long time. A great tool to teach about underwater creatures.

If you do not have fish stickers, print a few pictures from the internet and cut them out.

7) Paper fans

Activity butterfly

Paper fan is such a common and easy craft. So, why not use the paper fans to make something new from it?

I loved this butterfly with the simple clip in between and the paper fan wings in pink. Check the post for more options.

8) Name tags

Activity nametags

We all love our names. Try this simple craft with any available colorful papers and stickers. Use the name tag for your child’s cupboard or school bag or at his desk.

He could even make one for mom and dad for their office desks. They would be proud to display it.

9) Cardboard rolls

Activity toilet roll

This was one of our early posts. Frankly, if I was to make some more toilet roll crafts today, I would probably do many more designs. There are just so many lovely ideas on the internet but, anyway, I still loved this simple pencil holder made from just Ice cream sticks.

You could use this craft to teach colors and it is useful too.

10) Nine activities

Activity nine activities

We love this post because it give nine ideas to engage a child. Some of them are just so simple like sorting or stringing activity.

Some more easy crafts for young children:

Threeactivities

Colorful caterpillar

One of the easiest crafts. You could use lids or sponge or foam instead of the tea light candle holders or shells. This craft could be a start to teach about insects. You could also explain the cycle of caterpillar to Butterfly. And of course for all Eric Carle lovers, you could make this activity with his book, The very hungry caterpillar.

Shape ship

A very simple activity to teach shapes. It looks colorful and it can be made into a small frame to adorn your child’s room.

Cotton bunny

One of the easiest crafts even for children as old as two years. Just cut out the bunny face and ask them to go on sticking cotton. You could use buttons or bindi for eyes in case you do not have googly eyes. Similarly, you could use black painted wires for whiskers.

You could also make a sheep similarly.

We hope you enjoyed this “blast from the past” journey with us, just as much as we did.

And if you have missed any of the above posts then, you now have new ideas to try with your children.

Have fun and see you soon,
