Hi kids,
Christmas is coming. Be good and happy. Try some of these crafts to make you and mom smile.
We also have one other post for some more Christmas crafts.
Scrubber ornaments
(Note: Adult supervision required)
What you will need:
Scrubber scissors a cello tape or anything to draw a circle with.
glitter
fevicol or glue
Thread
Brush
Paint
Cello tape
Method:
Cut the scrubber into small circles. Mix fevicol, paint and glitter, in a throw away bowl to make a gloopy mixture. Use a brush and paint the circles with dollops of this mixture. Leave to dry. Add a string behind the circle to hang them. Use a cello tape or glue to adhere.
Caution: I only used glitter instead of this gloopy mixture. The fine glitter powder made a mess. If you have balcony, use that to make anything involving glitter powder 🙂
Pipecleaner ornaments
(Note: Kid friendly activity)
What you will need:
Pipe cleaners
ear plugs or any soft circular object like a pom pom.
Thread
Method:
Take three different colored pipecleaners and go on wrapping around the ear plug. Wound the first pipecleaner in a single direction. Wound the second pipecleaner in the opposite direction. Leave a loop where you can insert the thread and tie it up to make a hanging. Wound the third pipecleaner to same as the first to make a secure shiny ball.
Caution: Be careful tat the pipecleaner wire does not poke you 🙂
Plastic tea-coaster ornaments
(Note: Kid Friendly activity)
What you will need:
Paint
Brush
fevicol or glue
Glitter – optional
Old Plastic tea coasters
A paper punch
Thread
Cello tape or anything else to draw a circle on the tea coasters.
A black marker pen.
scissors
Method:
Draw the shape you require on the tea coasters and cut them. Make a gloopy mixture with fevicol and paint. Optionally, add glitter to this mixture. Apply a thick layer of paint onto the coasters. Leave them to dry. Once they are dry, write the christmas cheers – Hope, love, joy, happiness, peace, smile and others with a lighter shade. Punch a hole and add your string.
Pasta decorations
(Note: kid friendly activity. Adult supervision for glitter)
What you will need:
Different colored pasta
Fevicol or glue
Glitter (optional)
String
Scissors
Method:
String the pasta in a colorful pattern. Add a string to make a loop for hanging. Brush some fevicol on the pasta and sprinkle glitter. It’s ready.
Cello tape holly
(Note: Kid friendly activity)
What you will need:
An empty cello tape
Golden ribbon to make a bow
Red satin ribbon
Glue
Scissors
Thread
Method:
Wrap the red satin ribbon completely over the empty cello tape. Add a thread to make a hanging holly. You can then add a big bow of golden ribbon. To make a bow: Cut a piece of the golden ribbon, make a circle and paste the two ends. Pinch the middle to make a bow shape and tie it up. You can add any other decoration as available with you to this too.
Towel ring holly
(Note: Kid friendly activity. Very young kids can also do this.)
What you will need:
An old towel ring. (Instead of this, you can use a cardboard ring also. That’s the most available and simple ring you can use.)
Colored pompoms
Glue dots
Ribbon or thread to tie a loop to make a hanging holly
A bow
Method:
First, tie the thread or ribbon tightly to make a hanging. Just paste the glue dots in a circle on the towel ring. Paste the pom poms on it. Fill any empty spaces. Add a bow.
I hope you have enjoyed these simple christmas crafts.
