Hi,
It was Aruja’s third birthday Party and she loves everything about this theme. As we were planning for this theme, she said, “at the end everyone must do the hot-dog dance ” 🙂
Here is the birthday girl ready for a Christmas & birthday party at school and her mom is ready to start setting up the evening party with the help of family, friends and neighbors.
Thanks a bunch to everyone for getting involved, for enjoying and helping out in any way possible.
I am including here more pictures so that they can give ideas to anyone else who plans on this theme for a party.
If you have any further queries, please feel free to get in touch with me.
Invitations:
We had two parties. One for younger children (Age group similar to Aruja’s) and one for older children & adults.
A simple invite printed on cardstock. We added a red satin ribbon and a mickey punched out from a glitter black card paper.
Party Favors
We made mickey and Minnie ears using glitter foam sheets and plain black hairbands. Here is a link on how to make these – Mickey mouse ears.
Decorations
On the walls.
The red and black fans are made up of simple card paper.
The Minnie face on the glass door is at a low height to play a game of “pin Minnie’s bow”. My friend Pratima helped cut out the Mickey face on the thermocol sheet. I am not very precise in my crafting ability 🙁
The special SPLATS or mickey head glitter stickers were made by my friend Neet. They are above and below the Minnie face. You can remove them and stick them on any surface without any marks or damage.
The red lights give out a lovely glow. See the difference in the above and below pictures.
The frame with “mickey related” words.
Free printable decorations as seen below from catch my party by Printabelle.
The backdrop.
The balcony garden.
It was converted into an activity corner.
Dad had brought a Minnie for Aruja from Hong Kong. She looks so pretty surrounded by the butterflies.
And a lighted up Minnie added the extra special glow. It was made by my friend Meena by twisting the regular light chords into the required shape.
Outside the front door.
The garden plants in a row and each pot has a foam mickey to show you the way to this mickey party.
A simple fan hanging – It’s red, Black and white colors. A mickey sticker on the door.
Table décor and food
We had Mickey shaped candies, chocolate balls, Mangola drink, Pink & white wafer sticks and mickey shaped cookies.
The snacks served were – Cheese sandwiches in mickey shape, Potato pattice, Wafers, Cookies and Cake.
Activities & Games
We had converted the balcony into an activity corner – The board said “Minnie’s activity corner”.
It had three activities.
1) Make a mickey or Minnie car hanging using bangles.
2) Make a mickey and friends cuboid
3) Mickey and friends coloring sheets
Games
1) Sorting game – My friend Varsha had bought me a mickey mouse punch. We used this to make Yellow, Black and red mickey punch outs. We mixed them all and stored them in a bottle. Each child was given 3 glasses. One of them was full of these mixed colored mickeys. They had to sort these out into three different colors Red, Black and yellow. The child who sorted them first won a prize.
2) Musical mickeys – The same as musical chairs but instead there were card paper cutouts of mickey placed on the ground.
3) Treasure hunt – For the younger kids, we made a chart showing 20 things as her birthdate is 20th Dec. All these things were strewn about in the room. They each got a bag and they had to refer to the picture and collect as many as they could. The child who collected the most items would win.
For the older kids, we made it a bit tougher. They were just shown the picture and they had to remember the things shown and collect them.
4) Guessing game – I had collected few items in a box. Multiple items. I asked them to guess the number of specific items and I would then remove them from the box and count them in front of the children. So all the children would count with me. For example – Christmas tree decoration stars. “How many stars are inside this box?” Each child would mention a number between 1 to 10. If he or she guess it correctly they win that round.
5) Pin the bow on Minnie game – Similar to pin the tail on the donkey. I had made it easier by placing a magnet on Minnie’s forehead and another one on the bow.
Return gifts and Prizes
We had lovely Disney stationery items – erasers, pencils, pens and sharpeners. We also had mickey photo frames, stickers, book labels, Bags and cardboard puzzles. For the younger children there were pre-school activity worksheets. I had downloaded these free from 1+1+1. We also had mickey shaped natural soaps especially made for young children. We bought these from Bubblesnsqueek.
And of course, there were many chocolate bars all wrapped up in mickey mouse wrapping papers.
Each child was offered a mix of the above based on their age groups. The packed return gift bags looked like this.
For the moms, I even printed out Disney mickey and friends bookmarks.
I would also recommend the following CD for music entertainment.
I went through so many sites and downloaded so many files for this birthday. If any of you are planning a party with this similar theme, please let me know and I will e-transfer these files to you.
I hope that everyone who attended, enjoyed the party. Here are some mixed photographs of all the fun we had 🙂
Thanks for stopping by 😉

Reference reads:
1.) Birthday party checklist from the moms views.
2.) I made my own mickey headbands in a much simpler way. My post on that is here but, the authentic way to make the headbands I found here at onecreativehousewife.
Wow!! What a spectacular and creative birthday party you had for the lil one. I had seen the pics on Facebook and was impressed but this post has rendered me speechless. Amazing games, activities, decor, food, invites, gifts… have bookmarked this and will share it with a friend who is looking for a creative birthday party theme! Thanks for sharing. And belated birthday wishes to lil Aruja! 🙂
Thanks so much Shilpa. I am so glad that you have liked this and happy that someone else could use the ideas. Let me know if it is a similar theme and will transfer the soft files 🙂
As usual awesome, no wonder you have been busy! Now this kind of busy, is so good 🙂 I love all the activity ideas. I don’t think we ill have a Mickey Mouse party, even though Aarya loves the dude – he is very specific he wants a Ben 10 cake lol, and Thomas the train – well I have no idea – how to incorporate 2 themes into 1 – and it will be right after my delivery – SO I have no idea whatsoever if we will have a party at all, but I am going to be optimistic and plan on 😉
Oops sorry – i posted my previous comment way too fast 🙂
Belated Birthday wishes to sweet little girl. She is so adorable 🙂 This little light of yours, may it shine.

They are very easy too. Just fold any paper or felt rectangle into a tube. Flatten it and pinch in the middle. Then tie them up with another piece of ribbon in the middle. Google for it. 🙂 Thank you for reading Manini.
